Out Of Hours

At weekends, public holidays or when the surgery is closed, please telephone

(01255) 674373

where your call will be automatically transferred to the out-of-hours service.

NHS 111 service

In order to comply with the new 111 Service, practices have been requested to make the necessary arrangements for the handling of calls to the surgery during out-of-hours. As such, should you need to ring out-of-hours, you can continue to ring on the surgery telephone number above, where your call will be re-directed to one of the trained advisers on the 111 team. Alternatively, you can ring 111 directly by dialling "111" on your phone. Your call is answered by a trained adviser who will be able to assess and give any advice you may need or direct you to the most appropriate local service that can help you best. Therefore, the outcome of the call could be anything from the dispatch of an ambulance to simple health information. Patients could be advised to visit their nearest open pharmacy, attend A&E, a walk-in-centre or an out-of-hours doctor.

(Patients can also ring 111 at any time of the day for help and advice - as with the previous NHS Direct service).

Minor Injuries

The practice is not able to provide a minor injury service for our patients. If you have a minor injury such as a cut, burn or something in your eye, you will need to go to the Minor Injury Unit at either Clacton or Colchester hospitals.

Local Unit: Clacton & District Hospital, Tower Road, Clacton-on-Sea. (09.00-21.00.)

Main Unit: Colchester General Hospital, Turner Road, Colchester. A doctor is always available.
