Other Important Information

Contractual Requirements

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (i.e. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS Services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Walton Medical Centre in the last financial year was £58,194 before tax and National Insurance. This is for three full time GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.

However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.

Confidentiality & Data Protection

We ask you for personal information so that you can receive appropriate care and treatment. This information is recorded on computer and we are registered under the Data Protection Act.

The practice will ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times by all members of the practice team. However, for the effective functioning of a multi-disciplinary team it is sometimes necessary that medical information about you is shared between members of the practice team.

Likewise, you may be receiving care from other providers as well as the NHS. So that we can all work for your benefit, we may need to share some information about you. We only ever use or pass on information about you to other parties that have a genuine need to know and it is in your best interest to do so.

Expected Behaviour

We aim to offer the best medical service and care to our patients at all times and we aim that this is done by our staff with compassion and politeness. We hope in return our patients will treat our staff in the same way with consideration and politeness.

Zero Tolerance

We strongly support the NHS policy on zero tolerance. Anyone attending the surgery who abuses the GPs, staff or other patients be it verbally, physically or in any threatening manner whatsoever, will risk removal from the practice list. In extreme cases we may summon the police to remove offenders from the practice premises.
